Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

April 19, 2012 by Shelly

Is your little one having a birthday soon? Do your children love chocolate chip cookies? If so, we would like to share this recipe with you on how you can make a giant sized chocolate chip cookie!

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

6 tbsp. butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose white flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl cream together the softened butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Add in the large egg and vanilla extract and beat the mixture again. In a separate bowl sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually stir the flour mixture into the wet mixture and beat until all ingredients are well combined. Fold in the 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips by hand.

Line a round pizza baking sheet with aluminum foil. Pat the cookie dough into the pizza pan to within 1″ of the pan’s edge. (the large cookie will expand a little bit while baking). Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 15-18 minutes or until done. I always check mine 1/2 way through the baking process and if it seems like it is getting too brown I will turn my oven down to 325 degrees for the rest of the baking process. Once it is done, remove the baking pan from the oven and let the cookie cool on the pan. Once cool you can slice it up into your desired slice size. Store the cookies in an airtight container.
