Slim and Sparkling™ Margarita Recipe

Slim and Sparkling™ Margarita Recipe

The key to preventing cocktails from becoming calorie bombs is to take care when selecting the base for the drink. Juices (even unsweetened ones), sodas, anything with a syrup in it, and most liqueurs all pack tons of sugar.  Sparkling ICE has ZERO calories, sugar, carbs, and sodium.

·  3 oz. Lemon Lime Sparkling ICE
·  1 oz.  Tequila
·  Splash of Triple Sec
·  Fresh Squeezed Lime

Preparation: Shake and pour into a chilled rocks glass rimmed in salt (optional).

The Ultimate Guacamole Recipe

The Ultimate Guacamole Recipe

  • 3 Haas avocados, halved, seeded and peeled
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 medium red onion, diced
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 1 jalapeno seeded and diced
  • 2 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Preparation: In a large bowl place the scooped avocado pulp and lime juice, toss to coat. Drain, and reserve the lime juice, after all of the avocados have been coated. Using a potato masher add the salt and mash. Then, fold in the onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and garlic. Add 1 tablespoon of the reserved lime juice. Let sit at room temperature for ½ hour and then serve. Makes about 6 servings.

Note: Avoid the mess and imprecision of slicing avocado with a knife by using the Ussentials Stainless Steel Avocado Slicer. Designed to make clean consistent cuts from start to finish, the blades will help users get the right portions without the hassle. The short neck makes it easy to maneuver while fitting comfortably in your palm thanks to a no slip soft grip. Like all Ussentials, the avocado slicer is dishwasher safe.

Dehydrated Tortilla Chips Recipes

Dehydrated Tortilla Chips Recipes

·  4 ½ cups corn masa harina
·  1/2 cup flax seed
·  1/3 cup flax seed oil

PreparationMix all ingredients, knead dough until smooth. Round a small amount of dough and place it between 2 layers of plastic bag and roll it with a rolling pin. Spread flat on the Excalibur Dehydrator screens and dehydrate for 4 hours. Shape the tortilla chips and place back in dehydrator overnight, or approximately another 8 hours. Cutting them into triangles is a great way to get the traditional shape of a tortilla chip.

If you don’t have a dehydrator, you can use a regular home oven, but only if you set it at the lowest possible temperature (usually around 150 degrees F) and make sure that the oven is not hotter than 100 degrees F by keeping the door slightly open. A convection oven will work better than a regular oven due to the blowing air.
