When I was a little girl, my mother always dressed me up in the cutest spring and summer outfits, and that included the most darling little bathing suits. When I was a kid, I wore whatever my mother gave me to wear and I no choices in it. As I aged, I realized that not everything mom put on me, looked good on me and at times, it was very unflattering to my body figure.
Today that’s all changed. As a woman in my 40’s, I want to wear figure flattering clothing and that includes plus size swimwear. As soon as the holidays were over with, I came up with a plan to drop 20 lbs. before the start of the summer swimming suit season. However, with all good intentions, I fell off the plan and didn’t meet my goals.
Spring has just arrived and summer will be here before we know it! Already this spring season we are being blasted by fashion ads on TV, in magazines and even on the internet with pretty bone-thin models strutting their stuff in their latest and greatest swimwear. I don’t know about all of you, but those type of swimming suits definitely do not look good on me!
I decided to head on out to one of my local department stores to shop for plus size bathing suits and I found their selection to be very poor. I found about 5 different designs hanging on their rack in my size, and none of them suited my own personal fashion taste. I was going to take the time to try one on but then again, I dread those department store fitting rooms and decided to just go home. I was completely discouraged with this shopping trip, but I wasn’t ready to give up.
Once I was back home, I decided to hop online and check out some online stores that carry plus size womens swimwear and found several nice ones to shop at. While I was shopping for my new summer swimwear, I found a ton of swimming suits in my size that were all high-quality and super fashionable.
I loved that I could purchase my items online, have them shipped straight to my front door and try them on in the privacy of my own home. I can invite a friend or two over and try on the items I purchased, and ask them for their personal feedback on them. I found out that most of the retailer’s online have excellent return policies so that really put me at ease when it came to purchasing my new swimming suit online.
Now that I have made my new purchases, I am all ready to hit the beach come vacation time and I am really looking forward to showing off my new bathing suit this year!
