Replacing our old Hot Water Heater was Easier than we Thought
For the past few months I have been telling you all about the 60+ year old home that we purchased back in 2010 which we have been remodeling for the past year. Well, we had to put the brakes onto one of our remodeling projects last month because our old hot water heat finally died!
We knew it was going bad but we were putting it off until we absolutely had to call someone for water heater repair. Here is what happened:
Our renter called us up one morning at 5am to tell us that all of her carpets were soaked with water down in the basement and that she had no hot water for her morning shower. We thought perhaps she was exaggerating about all of this water being soaked into the carpets, but once we arrived on the scene we realized that the basement now had 60 gallons of cold water all over the place! Ugh, definitely not the way you want to start your day at 5:00 in the morning.
Hubby immediately got onto the phone calling up a place who deals with replacing hot water heaters and let me tell you, they handled our emergency call professionally and quickly. Within 2 hours we had their team of repairmen out at our rental home removing the broken hot water heater and installing a new one for us! We were very grateful that they could fit us in immediately and get to work on it right away. What a relief!
After they were done installing the new hot water heater they even took the time to vac up all of the water that was laying all over our basement floor. That was super nice of them and we really appreciated their attention to detail and their quick action.
I don’t know why we put off replacing that old hot water for so long because the entire process of getting a new on installed was a lot ‘less’ painful than we thought it would be.
The 2 repairmen that they sent out to our house were very nice and they did an excellent job. We couldn’t be more pleased with the work that they did for us and would not hesitate in using them in the future for additional work should the need arise again.
Now that the hot water heater has been replaced it is time to finish up that guest bathroom that we started a few weeks ago and then we want to tackle the family room next. Hopefully we can get both of those remodeling projects completed before the start of summer.
