Baby Gates & Home Safety Products by KidSafe

My Review: The great folks over at KidSafe sent me their KidCo Extra Tall and Wide Auto Close Gateway to review for all of you. I have an almost 3 year old grand-wee-one who is often at our home so I was really excited about reviewing this particular gate since I have an extra-wide hallway entrance. The baby gate was well packaged and arrived super quickly to my home.
Product Features:
- Magnets and hinge automatically close and lock door
- No damage to walls or woodwork
- Installs quickly with no tools
- Heavy duty steel construction
- Passes all ASTM and JPMA safety standards
- Two-way door
- Hold-open button
My husband quickly unpacked it from the box and read the instructions to assemble it and to install it. This took him about 10 minutes to do and trust me…he took his time with it! The baby gate measures 36″ tall and up to 47 1/2″ wide out of the box. He didn’t need to use any tools or hardware to assemble it or to install it. It’s a really easy process! It’s constructed of strong tubular steel which we find to be extremely light-weight and very durable. You can quickly and easily move this baby gate around your house if need be.
The u-shaped frame remains firmly installed while the center, self-closing walk-thru door will open and close in either direction. I love that feature! I also appreciate the 36″ height on this baby gate as it will grow with our grandchild. (as she gets bigger it will still do the job of keeping her from wandering all around my house). It’s also a great height for those of you who have large sized dogs that you want to keep contained to one room in your home.
Personally, I love the white finish to this baby gate as it blends in well with our white walls but it also comes in black for those of you who prefer the black color. I really love how easy it is for “adults” to operate but yet…it would be difficult for a toddler to master the opening of the gate. On the top of the gate door is a latch and you simply press the latch and pull up on it at the same time to open the gate. You don’t have to worry about closing it because it closes all by itself once you are through the gateway.
It is tension set to the sides of your walls and I was a little worried that if grand-wee-one threw herself against it that it would come down…however, let me assure you…that won’t happen! My hubby and I both pressed against it with full force and it didn’t even budge an inch! It’s extremely stable!
