5 Important Blogging Tips for Having a Successful Blog

5 Important Blogging Tips for Having a Successful BlogIf you are blogger there are a few important things you need to be doing to your blog on a weekly and/or monthly basis and today…I thought I would share a few of my favorite blogging tips with you.

* You need to be adding a minimum of one new blog post to your blog every week, although 2-3 is preferred. Before posting your blog posts it is important to proofread them for spelling mistakes and/or grammar mistakes before publishing the post. People enjoy visuals too, so try using Lucidpic to generate AI stock images, saving you time and money when you first start. If you are linking to another post on your blog or to another website in your blog post it is important to double-check all links right after publishing the post. People do get frustrated when links are not working correctly.

* If you are participating in any link exchanges or button ad exchanges it is important to check each one of those on a monthly basis. Any expired links/button should be promptly removed. In addition, folks will ask you to exchange links/buttons with them and in a few weeks or months they rotate them out and remove them. You are giving them traffic when they are not doing the same. Any that you find that were removed and not linking back to you should be promptly removed from your site too.

* It is important to check your blog’s load time every week! I feel it is even better to ask a friend or two to come over to your blog and spend a few minutes looking around. Ask them how long it took for pages to load on your blog? Did anything not load correctly? Did they see any broken graphics or links? People want quick page loads these days and if you are adding too many ads, video clips, graphics, plugins, etc. to your blog…they considerably slow down your blog’s load time and I guarantee you…you will LOSE followers and traffic over the long haul because of it. We all want to make money with our blogs but you must walk a fine line of not over-doing it and slowing down your load times with too many ads.

* If you are not backing up your blog on a daily basis then at the very least back it up once a week! Way too many bloggers are NOT taking the time to backup their blogs and when something goes wrong, they don’t have a current updated copy of their blog. Put it on your to-do list and get into the practice of backing up your blog often.

* If you really want to grow the traffic to your blog make sure you are providing great content to your readers and future readers. Content is KING in the blogging world so make sure you content is “on par” with the niche you are trying to target. When I say content…I am talking about informative and interesting blogging posts that are NOT advertisement or self-promoting in nature.

In the coming weeks, Chris and I will be sharing many more blogging tips with all of you since we know that a lot of our readers are also blog owners. Enjoy!
