This Valentine’s Day treat yourself, or a loved one, to delicious food made with wine! Whether you’re celebrating with your partner, best friend, solo or with a group of pals, here are some recipes from VOGA Italia Wine that are sure to fill your night with LOVE.  Of course, don’t forget to save some of your favorite VOGA wine to toast to St. Valentine with!

Molten Merlot Cakes Recipe

4 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate
1 stick of butter
1 TBS VOGA Merlot
1 TBS Vanilla Extract
1 cup confectioners sugar
1 eggs
1 egg yolk
6 TBS flour
¼ tsp Cinnamon
¼ tsp ground ginger
1/8 tsp ground cloves

Preheat oven to 425°F. Butter four 6 ounce custard cups and place them on a baking sheet.

Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwavable bowl on high for 1 minute or until butter is melted. Stir with whisk until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in wine, vanilla and confectioners sugar. Stir in eggs and yolk, followed by flour, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Pour batter evenly into the custard cups.

Bake the cakes for 15 minutes or until sides are firm but centers are soft. Let stand 1 minute. Carefully loosen the edges of the cakes with a small knife, place on a serving platter and decorate with confectioners sugar.  Enjoy immediately!

Berry Merlot Sauce Recipe

¼ cup VOGA Italia Merlot
1 pint blueberries, blackberries or combination
¼ cup sugar
2 TBS water

Place VOGA Italia Merlot, berries, sugar and water in a small saucepan and cook on medium heat until the liquids thicken. Remove from heat and let cool for about 2 minutes. Pour berry mixture into a blender and puree. Drizzle over your favorite dessert and enjoy!
