Honey Pacifica Delicious Raw Honey
Today, I would like to introduce you to Honey Pacifica, based out of Long Beach, CA. They specialize in unprocessed single floral source honeys. As both beekeeper and packer, they deliver their honey in its most natural state, using little heating and no filtering. Honey Pacifica has over 25 years of experience in the raw honey business giving them the knowledge to get you the highest quality raw honey available.
My Review: I was sent a 12 oz. jar of Honey Pacifica’s Creamy Mango Honey to review. You can see from the picture above, it looks as if it’s been whipped, but surprisingly, this is the most natural, raw form of Honey Pacifica’s Creamy Wildflower honey that’s been flavored with a light amount of mango extract. I am the only one in our family who likes mango, so this was mine, ALL mine! 🙂
This is a thick honey, so when I opened the jar, my first thing was to get a spoon, and see just how thick it was. I was able to pull the spoon out easily with a good amount of this creamy honey on it. Due to it’s thickness, it stayed on the spoon – a definite added plus. I did like that it wasn’t runny, hence, the creaminess. And creamy it was! Hard to put it to words, the anticipation, and then when it hit my tongue.
The texture of the Honey Pacifica Creamy Mango Honey, in appearance and taste, is ever so slightly crystalized. When it first hit my mouth, the light crystalization quickly seemed to dissolve into a silky-smooth, sweet taste of honey then the slight fruity bite that mixed with the light mango flavor. Delicious!
My favorite way to have honey is drizzled over a toasted english muffin, so that was my next taste test. I first put a little margarine on it, but actually didn’t really need it. I then spread the honey over top of it. To my ultimate pleasure, the heat of the toasted english muffin melted the creamy mango honey crystals, which then soaked in and it’s taste stood up to the density of the english muffin. These days if I don’t have an english muffin with this honey on it for breakfast, I find myself grabbing a spoon-full, for a quick sweet treat.
Honey Pacifica supplies it’s gourmet honeys to fine restaurants and specialty stores; however, it is also available to order directly from their website. The varietal floral honeys come from single sources like orange blossoms, black sage, and wild buckwheat, plus some mixed flavors, and honey comb. The honeys range in price, depending on flavor, and type. There are also unique ideas, recipes, and serving suggestions on their website, all featuring their various honey products.
I would like to thank John at Honey Pacifica for sending me their Creamy Mango Honey to review. I am a raw honey convert!
