Today I would like to introduce you to the company called Educational Insights based out of Southern California. Educational Insights is the manufacturer of playful products with serious educational value, including subject-specific classroom products, teacher resources, educational toys, and games. Their products are designed by seasoned educators & parents who know that children love to learn when you make that learning experience fun!
When you visit the Educational Insights online web site you will find that it’s really easy to navigate. The web site has three tabbed categories which are the sections for Parents, Teachers and Classroom Jeopardy. Since I am a mother and grandmother…I could spend hours just browsing around their parent’s section of the web site.
My Review: The great folks over at Educational Insights sent us the “Blurt” Word Race Game to review for all of you. This game is for ages 7 and up and 3-12 players can play at a time. The game comes with 300 cards (with 1800 clues), 6 game pieces, die and the instructional guide. It is all nicely packaged in a reusable storage box. This game won the Dr. Toy’s Best Picks for New Children’s Products – 2009.
How To Play: Roll the die, read the corresponding clue from your card. All players then blurt out guesses on what they think the word is. The first player to blurt out the correct word moves ahead on the game board. Play continues until the first person makes it completely around the game board and then you crown your winner!
We decided to invite our 2 nephews and our 1 god son up to play this new game with us a few days ago and let me tell you…we all had a blast playing it! We had a total of 5 players (2 adults and 3 young teens) and it was super fun. It only took us 3 minutes to read the instructions & to fully understand them. We took our turns and play continued until my 14 yr. old nephew made it around the board first so we crowned him as the winner! We had a blast listening to one another “blurt” out the words we thought it would be and the evening was filled with a ton of giggles and good “ribbing”. This is a great game for family game night and we think your family would love it too!
