Blog Publishing: How To Write A Great Blog Post

February 27, 2012 by Classystaff

Are you looking to market your business by blogging about information and topics that are geared towards your business niche? Are you unsure on how to even write a blog post? If so, I am going to share a few of my favorite blog publishing & writing tips with you today.

1. The title of your blog post or article should always contain the keyword(s) that are related towards the content within your published blog post.

2. The blog post should be easy reading and easy on the eyes to see. You don’t want to use a lot of BOLD bright and loud colors and crazy fonts.

3. Use one to three small sized graphics within the content of your blog post to add interest and meaning to your post. You can find several Free online stock photo sites that you can use to add graphics to your blog posts.

4. A great blog post will have a brief introduction paragraph that gives readers a ‘sense’ of the content that is within the blog post itself. In addition, a good blog post will have a great summary or closing paragraph that sums up what the reader read in the blog post.

5. Length…The length of your blog post really depends on the topic you are covering and whether your post is a formal or informal blog post. I like to keep my informal blog posts down to about 200 to 250 words. For my professional and formal blog posts, I tend to keep those around 300 to 450 words.

You don’t have to be a professional writer to write great blog posts…all you need is a few basic writing and publishing tips to get you on your way. Take your time and draft up some great blog posts, proofread them and check them for grammar mistakes before publishing them. Remember, blogging is supposed to be a fun and informative way to promote your business.
