Almondina All Natural Little Almond Cookies
Do you like cookies? Who doesn’t? But what about all the calories and cholesterol and salts and fats? But there is an all natural cookie that you can enjoy without the guilt; Almondina Cookies. They are made without fat, cholesterol, salt, preservatives or coloring. These are healthy cookies that are all natural and made from almonds, raisins and other good ingredients—that taste delicious! You can eat three of these crispy treats for under 100 calories or less.
The bakery at Almondina Cookies sent me seven flavors to taste for this review. These little cookies are thin, very crispy and loaded with taste. The ones I like the best are the Choconut, the Sesame and the Chocolate Cherry. The Choconut is a wonderful rich chocolate with almonds and raisins. I just wanted to eat the whole package of these as soon as I tasted the first one. The Chocolate Cherry has the same rich chocolate flavor with just more than a hint of cherries. I had to wrestle one of my son for this package after he tasted it. LOL! I love Sesame seeds and the Sesame cookie just hits the spot. It has that tasty roasted sesame flavor that lingers after the cookie is gone. Delicious!
The other flavors they sent for me to sample were the Original, (which has a delightful roasted almond flavor), Cinnaroma, (tastes like crisp cinammon toast), Gingerspice, (this one I was not overly fond of. I think I was expecting it to taste like a gingersnap but it has a lightly sweet ginger flavor with little chunks of ginger). The other was Brantreats (cinnamon with bran). Definitely something for every ones taste.
Almondina also makes the Original dipped in chocolate (they didn’t send these–probably because they knew I am crazy for chocolate and would not have wanted to even taste the others). There is also Almonduo with almonds, raisins and pistachio. I bet that is really tasty too.
All of the Almondina cookies are loaded with almonds and raisins. I was just reading an article on the healthfulness of almonds the other day. Almonds can help lower the risk of heart disease and help lower cholesterol levels. Almonds are also a good source of magnesium, vitamin E, fiber and potassium. They also have good monounsaturated fats. Grandma Dina, who originated the recipe for the Original cookie seventy years ago in Haifa, Israel knew something about healthy treats. These cookies are sold all over the United States and Israel. They are kosher, pareve and non-dairy. Check out where they can be bought at Almondina.com. I enjoyed snacking on such healthy, crunchy cookies. They are very satisfying to munch on and I think you will like them too!
