Accent Studios – Vinyl Wall Decals

February 6, 2012 by Classystaff

Accent Studios - Vinyl Wall DecalsI am very excited to introduce you to Accent Studios – Vinyl Wall Designs & Decals, based in Central Valley, CA. They specialize in high quality vinyl, which they turn into beautiful wall graphics. Their Wall Decals are coated with a self adhesive backing made to be non-permanent, so they stick to your wall, or other flat surface, until you are ready to take them down. When removed they won’t harm your walls or leave any sticky residue behind.

My Review: I was given the design of my choice (up to $40.00) to review, and had a hard time deciding. There is a wide range of designs and wall quotes to browse through on their website. When I came across this design (pictured above) I knew right away where I wanted to put it. Each of the designs is available in different sizes to fit your space, and you have color choices to fit the color scheme of your room.

My wall decal arrived rolled-up in a sturdy cardboard tube, which was nice to protect against the elements. It was snowing that day, and our mailman is not the best at closing our mailbox. But the decal was perfectly dry! I laid it, as the enclosed instructions said, to flatten it out. Then took some time to view the “How-To” videos on the Accent Studios website. These, as well as the enclosed illustrated instructions, made it easy to understand the “installation” process. I was confident I could do it alone, so decided to surprise everyone when they got home.

I am a scrapbooker, and have had both good and bad experiences with transfers. One of the first concerns I had was how easy the backing would come away transfer sheet. This was not an issue though with the applicator they sent. I used that to rub the backing, then a level and some masking tape along the top edge (their top-hinge method), to secure the bottom section first. The backing came away easily, and repeated this step once the transfer layer was dropped flat against the wall.

Look carefully at this picture, you can see the little hash marks between letters, the top section had these as well, and they allowed me to align the top line centered with the bottom line. Then I repeated the same process for the finished design. (Scroll up to the top picture)

Overall Impression: I will start with my family’s first impression. “Wow! It looks like you painted it on there. I love the colors! It looks perfect there. How did you do that?” I am equally impressed with the ease of the wall decal installation and how it looks on our wall above the picture. The vinyl is thick enough to be durable and not tear while adhering it to the wall, yet thin enough that you can not tell the difference. It really does look as if it’s painted on the wall.

Accent Studios – Wall Decals range in price according to size and design. Their website showcases the variety of expressions & quotes, monograms, shapes & dots, nursery and kids wall decals, and others. With our choice of design, size and even color, just about anyone will find something that will fit their home decor. They are an inexpensive way to add beautiful non-permanent designs to your wall space. Virtually any wall or surface that you want to bring to life.
