I told all of you a few weeks ago about my niece becoming pregnant and today we found out that she is having a little girl! Ashley is due in late March so I went out shopping this past weekend to look for some special baby shower gifts. While I was out I picked up the Best Baby Wrap I had ever seen…I wish they would of had those type of things when I was pregnant 27 years ago! I purchased it in a beautiful pink floral print and got it for an affordable price. It is very soft so it should feel great against the baby’s skin.
When my daughter was pregnant over 3 years ago she was very into baby wearing so she has been teaching Ashley all about that so that she will be an informed mother in that department. I love seeing my daughter giving “mothering” tips to her cousin (my niece) after all…that is what family is for!
I think every new mother should have a few baby slings in their collection that way they can rotate them out when one is dirty and being laundered they will have a few spares to use. I am thinking about purchasing Ashley another sling or wrap but this time in a solid color…perhaps green or white although I like the blue one that I saw. (didn’t get blue as I didn’t want anyone to mistake her little girl for being a little boy!).
While I was out shopping I also picked up a super soft fleece baby blanket, 3 darling little newborn girl dresses, 3 onesies, a case of cloth diapers, 2 tubs of diaper wipes and a baby monitor. Yes folks, we go all out when a member of the family is expecting a new addition to our family!
We are super excited to be attending the baby shower next month and then later in March we will be meeting the new little baby once she arrives! She will be my 19th niece! Wow, I sure am getting old!
