Love in a Nutshell by Janet Evanovich and Dorien Kelly Book Review
One of my favorite types of books to read is romantic comedy. Funny, quirky and easy to read, this genre is great for a light hearted story on a lazy day. I just love escaping into a great book that makes me laugh and feel good while reading and the good endings always make it worthwhile.
One of my favorite authors to read is Janet Evanovich. A master at romantic comedy and a great weaver of a story, Ms Evanovich has 48 books published and a huge following of fans. I was send an advance copy of her newest book on DVD co-authored by Dorien Kelly scheduled for release Jan 3, 2012.
LOVE IN A NUTSHELL
By Janet Evanovich and Dorien Kelly

Unabridged | ISBN-13: 978-1-4272-1496-6|
Kate Appleton needs a job. Her husband has left her, she’s been fired from her job as a magazine editor, and the only place she wants to go is to her parents’ summer house, The Nutshell, in Keene’s Harbor, Michigan. Kate’s plan is to turn The Nutshell into a bed-and-breakfast. Problem is, she needs cash, and the only job she can land is less than savory.
Matt Culhane wants Kate to spy on his brewery employees. Someone has been sabotaging his company. And Kate is just new enough in town to be able to insert herself into Culhane’s business and snoop around for him. If Kate finds the culprit, Matt will pay her a $20,000 bonus. Needless to say, Kate is highly motivated. But several problems present themselves: Kate despises beer. No one seems to trust her. And she is falling hard for her boss.
Can these two smoke out a saboteur, save Kate’s family home, and keep a killer from closing in… all while resisting their undeniable attraction to each other? Filled with humor, heart, and lovable characters, Love in a Nutshell is delicious fun.
I love how the characters are developed and work together in the story; the characters are in balance. One is not overpowering the other. The women in the stories are strong, independent women and the love interest are hunky and delicious. In Love in a Nutshell, Kate the main character, is outspoken, quirky and funny. Circumstances leaves her begging for a job and the guy that takes pity on her is gorgeous with a problem of his own he needs help with. The love interest develops throughout the story and you are left anticipating each new chapter.
Love in a Nutshell is full of drama, suspense, a bit of mystery and laughs. It is a fun, exciting book to read, or in my case listen to. I could just read Ms. Evanovich’s books all day long! She is an expert story teller and her partnership with Dorien Kelly on Love in a Nutshell is certainly a beneficial one. They have woven a great, lighthearted, feel good story that you are going to want to get right into.
