Jenelle’s Review: Today I am reviewing this book for all of you and as a 26 year old single woman…I could use some help in this department so I was excited to read the book and give you my thoughts on it. The book starts out with an entire section on “What Am I Doing Wrong?” and in this section you are taught to get to know yourself, your wants, your desires, etc. as well as how to stress-proof your dating life. The book then goes into the next section called “Let The Search Begin” which gives you simple rules for dating, how to be a smart shopper and explains to you the twelve month timetable. The third section of the book is called “The Road To Happily Ever After” and this section starts off with the big decision on should you or should you not get married along with the importance of having a connection & good communication with the person you are involved with. I enjoyed the last chapter in the book which was called “Keep Love Alive” which I feel is very important as I have learned from past relationships that love can die off pretty quickly.
Overall…the book is an extremely easy read and is written in the context that anyone can understand. I loved that the book is broken down into 3 main sections and then within each section is smaller chapters. Here is a little something I learned in the Communication section of the book.
Never Say: “What’s Your Problem?” as that comes off with you being snarky and cranky.
You Should Say: “Is there something you want to discuss or change?” which leaves the door open for a discussion and not an argument.
I learned a lot about dating and relationships by reading this book and next week I am going to read it again as I feel I can learn even more by reading it a second time. I am also going to share the book with my boyfriend to see what he thinks and hopefully this book & the knowledge contained within it can help us improve our relationship. Great book!
