It tends to make me a bit nervous hearing about all of the banking issues that are in the news all of time. Bad mortgages, crazy fees, and in return you get ridiculous low rates on your money. I am not certain where this industry is going, and neither is anyone else, but I can understand when people decide that they don’t want to use a bank.
Well I can say that I am not there yet, but I am certainly looking for different options in banking and one of those options is an online bank. Online banking has changed a lot in the past few years. I can remember many years ago when I was going to invest some money in an online banking and stock trade company and my good friend who managed a lot of money, both professionally and personally, stopped me from doing that. Since then that company has grown a lot and I still kind of kick myself. LOL But it has shown me that online banks and banking systems that have a presence online are safe to use as long as you do due diligence in checking them out.
I have been doing my research and found that many banks have brick and mortar buildings as well as a presence online too. One of the banks I found was Aurora Bank FSB and with the information I was reading, I feel good about their qualifications in banking. I want a bank that has low fees and good rates and one that I feel like I can do all of my banking with in one place. I hate having funds spread out over 3-4 banks. I want to be able to access my money when I need it and to be able to move it around easily.
Now that I have been doing my research on personal finance & online banking, I feel a lot more knowledgeable in my options and the choices that are available online. I can safely say that I have been moving some of my money into an online back and I have been paying many of my bills online now too. I am loving the convenience of this system.
I think that if you are having issues with your bank, you should take some time out to do some research on online banking too and find a bank that will work for your situation. You are going to be glad you did.
