Future Steel Buildings

Back in May of 2010 my husband and I purchased a second home and are using it as an investment property and we are currently renting out this home to a very nice tennant. We are having such a great experience with being landlords and investing in property that we are now going to purchase a third property but it does need a lot of work.

For this new property we are purchasing we want to be able to add a few additional buildings onto the property since it is zoned residential/commerical and we are looking into a type of building called Future Steel Buildings which is something we are currently educating ourselves on.

If you are not familiar with what Future steel buildings are we will briefly talk about it in this blog post.

This type of steel building is becoming very popular because they are typically environmentally friendly and more affordable than conventional style buildings. There are basically 3 different types of Future Steel Buildings which are: Quonset Hut, Steel i-Beam Building and the Hybrid Steel/Wood combination.

All 3 of these types of their advantages and disadvantages to them so it is really up to the purchaser on which type they want and which type will suit their needs and their pocket book.

For us personally…we are looking into the Hybrid Steel/Wood Combination as we would like to add a 2-car garage, a workshop and large outdoor storage room building onto the back side of the property. We feel this would increase the value of the property and make our new property appeal better to someone who was looking for a large property in a residential/commercial zoned area. This renter could live on the property in the main house and then use the new building we want to add for a on-site business.

So anyway…this new endeavor of ours has been keeping us pretty busy the past few weeks but we are really excited about moving forward with our new project.
