Doing Some Home Improvements in 2012

December 20, 2011 by Classystaff

I have owned my home for 15 years now and it is at the point where it is time to start doing some upgrades and home improvements. We have done some work on the outside and some on the inside, but there are certain items that we really need to focus on in 2012.

Several years ago we put in some hardwood floors that runs through much of the house. We left the living areas in carpet but it is getting to the point where some of that needs to be replaced too.

Selecting carpet cane be a real chore for me. I had to select carpet when we first moved in and what looked like beige in the store was actually almost white on the floor. It was beautiful, don’t get me wrong, but with a baby, a dog and 2 cats at the time, I knew it would not last long. I spent many hours scrubbing that carpet. LOL I now know a lot better.

While doing some research online regarding this topic I found a really helpful web site called WFCA by the World Floor Covering Association and they have a free carpet and flooring guide along with tips on their web site for those of you who are considering redoing your floors. I really enjoyed looking at their detailed flooring guides which really helped us with our decision on what we wanted to get installed.

Now that the New Year is coming up, I am starting to get excited about our project. The first place that is getting new carpet is the living room and dining room area and then I am replacing the master bedroom floor. I am tired of dingy old carpets and we so deserve some new flooring this year. Too Fun! I wonder what color I am going to pick… That is the toughest part for me!
