Thoughts on Cancer Awareness – It Sucks
Cancer sucks and everyone knows that. My family has been lucky to have no issues with this dreaded illness, thankfully, but my hubby’s family has not been as lucky. So we support cancer awareness and fundraising efforts as much as possible
Just last week, our town hosted the Relay for Life which is put on by the American Cancer Society and so we spent some time out there to show our support and make some donations. There were many booths set up from local business and non profit groups to show their support. Many of the booths were selling cancer awareness ribbons in a variety of colors and to support different cancer research.
I picked up a few to make my donation and then bought several to share with others that have had cancer in our family. The Breast Cancer Awareness ribbons are very popular and I got one for my mother in law, who is a survivor. I also got several purple Cancer Awareness ribbons and pins just to show support for cancer victims in general.
Cancer is a dreaded illness and with enough awareness and fundraising, it is in my hopes and dreams that we see a cure for all cancers completely in this lifetime.
