MATY’S All Natural Baby Chest Rub

October 22, 2011 by Shelly

Maty's All Natural Baby Chest RubToday I would like to introduce you to the company called Maty’s who makes and sells all-natural cough syrup for adults & children and they sell an all-natural chest rub for babies. As you all know…I am a grandmother to a 2 1/2 year old grand daughter so I was really excited to review this product. My grand-wee-one gets tons of infections & colds…mostly because she catches them at preschool! ugh! Here is some information about the product we are reviewing today.

All Natural Baby Chest Rub: This product is safe, gentle and effective and helps to provide soothing comfort to your little one. This is their proprietary blend of essential oils that help to boost the immune function while it calms and soothes your baby. The all natural blend is petroleum and menthol free and can be used on babies three months and older. You will find natural ingredients in this product such as Eucalyptus, Lavender and Chamomile. It is recommend by pediatricians and is for external use only! The chest rub is easy to use…you gently rub it on the babies chest or neck. For a unique & effective method of application, rub it on the bottom of their feet.

My Review: This product arrived just in the nick of time as the grand-wee-one came down with another infection and has been coughing terribly…so much so that her doctor prescribed a cough medicine which is great for night time use. With that said…it makes her sleepy so its not good for daytime use. We decided to give this all natural chest rub so I put it all over the wee one’s upper chest and put her t-shirt onto her. The first thing I want to tell you is that it does have a “minty” smell to it which I actually found pleasant. The wee one went on with her daily activities and I actually noticed that she did cough less and it wasn’t as hard. Did this product completely stop her coughing…no…but it did help it to be much less and not as hard. We continued to use the product twice daily (morning and night) for the next 4-5 days and we had really good results with it.

The product did not irritate her skin at all. It did not stain her t-shirts but I do recommend that you put “older” clothing onto them just in case that would be an issue…although it wasn’t for us. We find the product to be easy to apply and it washed off quickly during bath time. I thought the wee one would be bothered by the slight smell of the mint…but she wasn’t. I love that the product doesn’t contain any Petroleum or Menthol which is a great thing! Would I ever purchase this product? Yes I would and I plan on doing so when we run out of it! So I guess you could say…this grandma gives the product a big two thumbs up!
