Bugs and Slugs Children’s CDs
As parents, we are always on the lookout for ways to get our children away from the TV or video games, to get them moving and having fun. In our house we have always used music to liven things up, get our kids singing and dancing. Some children’s music though can grate on a parent’s nerves (admit it). But, today, I want to introduce you to Slugs & Bugs. Started by Randall Goodgame and Andrew Peterson, who have written songs for Veggie Tales, Slugs & Bugs is a collection of fun and silly songs for parents and their kids.
My Review: I was sent a copy of their CD, Bug & Slugs & Lullabies. This was the first time our family had ever heard of Bugs & Slugs and I must say, we all immediately liked their music! These songs are upbeat, and silly, but have an incredible message within them. I put it on as motivational music to get my 2 kids to clean, but they spent more time dancing! 😉 My husband and I both got into the lyrics, and appreciated that there was nothing we had to worry about the music our kids were listening to. All of the songs have such a positive message behind them.
To quote their Mission Statement: “You could say our mission is to write great, fun songs that celebrate the truth, beauty, freedom, and love of silliness that is so characteristic of children…Slugs & Bugs aims to provide a context for parents and kids to learn and remember together the joy of life in Christ, while also having a super-great time with silly songs about grizzly bears that don’t wear underwear.”
Randall Goodgame is a critically acclaimed American singer/songwriter, and the driving force behind Slugs & Bugs. He also continually tours all around the country with his live show Bugs & Slugs Live, described as a fun, interactive show that has some silly moments, yet some of it is deeply meaningful and gospel centered.
The new Slugs & Bugs album comes out October 25th in Family Christian Stores – it’s titled “Slugs & Bugs Under Where?” You can also order it, and the CD I reviewed at the Bugs & Slugs current online store. They even have Bugs & Slugs Christmas CD. These CD’s are also available as a digital download.

I highly recommend Bugs and Slugs! It’s quickly become a requested music request from my kids, and I am happy to be able to put it on, knowing that they are getting a wholesome Christian message mixed in with fun, silly upbeat songs!
