We Are Considering Using Rubber Mulch in our Landscaping

September 16, 2011 by Shelly

Hershey Gardens & Butterfly Atrium in Hershey PennsylvaniaAs most of our blog readers know we purchased an older home last spring and have been remodeling the home and redesigning our landscaping so we have been on a home improvement kick for the past 1 1/2 years.

For the past 4 months we have been working on our landscaping for both the front and back yards. We have been considering purchasing some Rubber Mulch to use in our backyard around our deck, pool house and around our gazebo as we like the look of this landscape mulch.

We love that rubber mulch is formulated from 100% recyclable tires so we consider it a more eco-friendly alternative and it is super affordable. We have been told that it is resilient, strong and pretty much indesctructible which is another selling point for us since we live in the North East and get a lot of heavy rain and snow storms so we want mulching that can hold up all year long no matter what the weather conditions are.

Lately I have been seeing this type of mulch being used on playgrounds, parks and even as arena footing so I am really excited to try out some of this rubber mulching in our landscaping design.

Have any of you ever used rubber mulch and if so…what was your experience with it?
