Today I would like to introduce you to the company called Educational Insights based out of Southern California. Educational Insights is the manufacturer of playful products with serious educational value, including subject-specific classroom products, teacher resources, educational toys, and games. Their products are designed by seasoned educators & parents who know that children love to learn when you make that learning experience fun!
When you visit the Educational Insights online web site you will find that it’s really easy to navigate. The web site has three tabbed categories which are the sections for Parents, Teachers and Classroom Jeopardy. Since I am a mother and grandmother…I could spend hours just browsing around their parent’s section of the web site.
My Review: Today I am reviewing for all of you the Shapes Bean Bags Game from Educational Insights. This game is a toss & learn game that helps children ages 3 and up learn their shapes and colors. The game comes nicely packaged in a storage box and includes 8 sturdy bean bags in 8 different shapes and each bean bag is embroidered with the shape names. The game also comes with a nice drawstring storage bag that is embroidered with the name of the game. Inside your box you will find a “Tip Sheet” with fun activities on it because this game is several different games all rolled into one, matter of fact…you can play 7 different games with just this one set!
I have a 29 month old grand daughter who loves to play games with her pappy & me so we were really excited to try this game out with her. She knows a few of her “shape” names so we decided to play the Toss & Say Game which is simply tossing the bean bags back & forth and catching them & saying the name of the shape on the bean bag. For example: The yellow bean bag is in a square shape and has the “square” name embroidered on it. So when the wee one catches it she says it is a square! To make it even more fun…we would ask her to identify the color too…in this case, yellow!
We also played the “Shape Circles” game with her and my nephew. We drew circles onto construction paper and then laid them out onto the floor. We left the kids toss a bean bag & if it landed on the paper we asked them to tell us something in our home that was that same shape (same shape as the bean bag). The wee one had some issues with this one but she is only 29 months old…our nephew who is 4 years old had a blast with this game!
Overall Impression: This is another fabulous game by Educational Insights! As you all know the Two Classy Chics are HUGE fans of the toys & games by Educational Insights and this game is another big hit!
