it is so nice to have friends over to dinner. Enjoying some adult conversation and a few drinks and appetizers make for a lovely evening. I don’t know about you, but when I am having guests over, I do go over and above what I normally will do for my family. Splurge a bit on some specialty foods and snacks, etc.
Well, I have a treat for you today. I got to review some delicious specialty foods that you will enjoy too. Madrona Specialty Foods has two great lines of products that are perfect for all of your dining and other festivities you do throughout the year.
I was sent product from both of the lines to try. The first line is Hannah’s Delights handmade candies. These are handmade candies that are made with recipes and traditions handed down for many generations. I was sent their Natural Snowball Dream Cookies which are tea cookies that are rolled in a dusting of powdered sugar. One was Peppermint and the other Original.
OMG My family and I enjoyed these so very much! These little bite sized delights are full of lovely flavor and the sugar is the right amount of sweetness. The peppermint one is very mild on the peppermint taste but lingers after you swallow your cookies for a few moments. The perfect ending dessert for an nice dinner. The bite size allows you to have just one or two and you are satisfied. Delicious!
We also enjoyed the best selling Holiday treat from Hannah’s delight their Handmade Chocolate Filled Peppermint Candy Canes. These are divine! Crisp candy outer coating just like your typical candy cane and then there is lovely surprise tucked inside of a creamy chocolate filling.
These handmade treat are the perfect stocking stuffer or after dinner treat with your coffee. Try stirring your coffee with one of these for peppermint and chocolate flavor. YUM They are packaged beautifully including a sweet red bow.
The second line is La Panzanella Croccantini crackers. These rustic crackers are made from scratch with all natural ingredients and are the perfect accompaniment for cheeses and spreads as well as a delicious standalone snack as well.
We tried three of their Croccantini flavors; the Original, Cracked Pepper and the Rosemary. I served these with some spreadable cheese and they make the perfect appetizer, snack or light lunch cracker. The flavor is much like a traditional cracker, lightly salted with just a hint of the seasoning used. They are super crisp, but they don’t break easily.
The crackers we got are full sized 7″ in length and about 3″ wide. They are a wonderful addition to any meal. These are great! I have been eating them at lunch with a bit of cheese and meat and they add a great flavor to my food. They do carry several flavors in this cracker and also in the mini bite size Croccantini too. These are all natural and have extremely low fat which is a big plus!
Overall, I am impressed with the great offerings from Madrona Specialty Foods. They have won many awards with their products, so I am a small fish in the big sea, but I am definitely keeping them on my list for the next time I go to the gourmet section of the big grocery store. Yum!
