Today I have a wonderful company to introduce you to called Oberon Design. This company makes all of their leather and pewter products in Santa Rosa, California and they have been in business since the 1970’s. The company built their reputation making refillable journal covers that are made out of hand tooled leather but they also make beautiful hand cast pewter jewelry items and handmade leather wallets. The company does not carry inventory and each of their leather items are handmade ‘to order’. Their leather is custom tanned for them in the good old USA. The boutique tannery they work with produces natural, drum dyed, unpainted leather for them that works well with their tooling and embossing work. The leather dyes that they use are produced in the USA and Britain and are considered much safer than those produced in Asia.
The Oberon Design pewter products are hand cast in their studio shop in Santa Rosa and they use only the purest, lead-free, food grade Britannia pewter. This pewter can be cast at very high temperatures that result in a low tarnish, high polish finish. Oberon Design carves their own molds and cast their own products in small batches of 6-12 pieces at a time which insures quality. Everything about this company is super impressive!
Shelly’s Review: Today I am reviewing the brand new Oberon Design Butterfly Women’s Bi-Fold Wallet in the gorgeous sky blue color. This large wallet measures 7 1/4″ tall by 4 3/4″ wide and is the perfect size for a woman’s handbag. The wallet is fully lined and has 6 credit card/ID slots, a zipper coin compartment, 4 reach-in pockets (for paper money & receipts) and a loop to hold your pen/pencil. The wallet is fasted by a removable bungee cord and you can purchase longer bungee cords if you tend to tote around a lot of stuff in your wallet. The wallet is made out of genuine super-soft leather that has been hand-tooled with a magnificent butterfly design that is on both the front and back of the wallet.
The bungee cord fastens around a handmade pewter button that also has a butterfly design on it. The Butterfly Design leather wallet is available in two colors: Purple and Sky Blue and you can purchase this wallet for only $118.00 directly from Oberon Design web site store. I think this wallet is a piece of functional artwork as it is just stunning! You can tell that the artist who made this wallet takes great pride in the work that they do as it is impeccable and I absolutely LOVE IT!
