I have had the opportunity in my life to visit many different countries and I love handcrafted goods from artisans from around the world. The details and complexity of their handcrafts is amazing to me. There is a company that focuses their business on bring you the most fabulous handcrafted work from around the world.
Novica is a direct sales company in partnership with National Geographic that has a giant website filled with the most amazing artisan work. I spent hours on their site looking at everything trying to decide on what to review for you today. They offer items from all over the world in categories such as jewelery, home decor, clothing, paintings and so much more. They offer awesome items for men like mens accessories and wonderful cufflinks for men and I really love the section that is dedicated to sterling silver cufflinks for your man. They look so awesome in a formal dress shirt!.
Each item shows the artist who created it and gives a brief bio. You really get to know your favorite artists and enjoy their amazing offerings and creations.
I selected a Soapstone jar called ‘Lattice Lace’ from a craftsman in India. It’s finely carved in jali or openwork and the latticework creates lacy patterns. Gulam Rasool is the artist and he crafted an exquisite jar with lid in soapstone’s natural colors. A flower crowns the box.
The detail is amazing and you can just imagine the amount of hours that he spent working on this piece. I love that there is a company that supports handcrafts and artisans in this manner. The site is amazing and is chock full of hundreds of pieces crafted by people from around the world who sell their goods to earn money for their families and villages. The craftsmanship on each item is wonderful which is why I had such a hard time deciding on what to review.
The soapstone jar can be used to hold whatever you would like. I am going to use mine as a jewelery box. It looks fabulous on my dressing table and I will treasure this piece forever.
