Cruising Around The Neighborhood In My New Heelys

I feel like a “teenager” again with this next product review that I am bringing to you today. With great pleasure I get to talk to you about Heelys and my recent “adventure” with them. I was selected to review a pair of Heelys for all of you and I almost turned it down as I was “scared” of falling on my butt. However, I decided I needed to conquer my fear of “wheels” and accept the review and give it a try.

I selected a pair of women’s light gray colored Heelys with white and pink trim for the product review. I stayed true to my normal footwear size and I am glad that I did as they fit absolutely perfect. The Heelys Sneaker has a nice rounded toe box, thick rubber soles with great anti-skid outsole’s. The insoles are nicely padded and cushioned for comfort. Once they arrived I followed the directions to remove the plug from the sole and inserted the wheel onto the bottom of each sole on each sneaker. This process is super easy and only took me about 15 seconds.

I then got dressed and headed outside with the family (they wanted to see me fall) and “tried” to take a spin around the parking lot. I admit…it was difficult since I have not had wheels on my feet for over 30 years now! With the help of my daughter and husband I spent about 30 minutes wheeling around the parking lot and having a little fun. I will admit, I spent some time watching the Heelys Instructional Videos before I headed on out for my Heelys Play Session and if you have never tried this sport I do recommend that you watch them a few times.

Since receiving my Heelys I have been doing a little practicing in them with the help of my hubby so I do feel you will need several practice sessions before you get decent at it. I did learn that I need to wear some protective gear when wearing my Heelys as there are times you will lose your balance and fall…so I do recommend elbow pads, knee pads and a helmet.

Overall, this has been a fabulous experience! My hubby now wants in on the Heelys fun and wants a pair for his Birthday come October so I think I will get him a pair so we can “cruise” around the neighborhood like teenagers LOL! The Heelys are extremely well-made and when you don’t want to use them for skating, you simply remove the wheel using the tool that they sent and you can convert them back to a regular sneaker again.

Just because we are middle-aged parents doesn’t mean we have to sit inside and let all of our kids and grand kids have all of the outdoor fun. I think all families should get some Heelys and spend time outdoors as a family cruising around the neighborhood wearing their Heelys. Super fun and I am so glad that I changed my mind and accepted the review. Yeah me!!!
