Our Review: Today we are reviewing for you the Batter Up! game by Educational Insights. This is a great game for teachers or those who home school several children. Since I do neither of those occupations I decided to invite 4 boys to my home to try out the game here. (ages: 10, 11, 11 and 12). The first thing you do is hang up the ball field banner (we just placed ours on the floor). You will need a dry erase marker to use this because you write each players name onto the bottom of a game piece and you will also use the dry erase marker to keep score on the scoreboard which is at the top of the banner. We divided the 4 boys into 2 teams and my hubby was the referee ummm supervisor of the game LOL. Now before the boys got here…hubby and I drafted up a list of 30 questions about various things we thought the boys would know about and we used that list as our questions. You ask each player a question and if they get answer right they can spin the dial (also on the banner) and the dial will tell them how their player moves on the board. There are little clear vinyl pockets on each base and they will move their player into that pocket on the base according to what they spun on the dial. After we were done asking them these 30 questions (a little over an hour) the team that had the highest score..won the game and in this case it was C and N.

The boys all play baseball so they were really excited about playing this and they have a lot of fun doing it! So even if you are not a teacher…you can still play this game at home and do it like we did. I think my hubby had just as much fun as the boys as he was the one primarily asking them the questions. We are very pleased with this item and the boys are already planning to visit again so they can try out the game again with us. We highly recommend it! You can purchase the Batter Up! game from Educational Insights for $14.99 which is a fabulous price!
