I was sent a fabulous necklace for review. This piece is called the Ellecante Leaf Petal Necklace and it is designed by Green Age. Created out of a Tagua Nut, which is a palm seed from the Colombian rain forest. It grows near the coast at an altitude of 1800 m above sea level. It is also known as the Vegetable Ivory, because its cream color, density, and hardness are very similar to actual ivory. This makes it an animal- and environment- friendly substitute for actual ivory, avoiding the sacrifice of endangered elephants. These seeds are sliced and then dyed with special environment-friendly pigments into a varying degree of color selection. You can match your necklace with the perfect outfit and do it in an organic, eco friendly manner too.
The necklace I received is the red one and this is a fabulous barn wood red. It is much darker than what is shown on the site. It is perfect for most of my outfits because the black accents are right inline with my colors. The lacing or string that they use is very interesting. I love how they incorporated it into the necklace through tying it onto the wooden circle and then incorporating it into the necklace itself. The neat thing about this cannot really be seen in the photos as this string acts as the length adjuster too simply by pulling the cords from the top. Anyone with arthritic hands that cannot clasp or unclasp a necklace can use this as a simple pulling motion is all that is needed. Very cool! This adjusts to a full 24″ length. This necklace is so beautiful! I love it!
