I am a chocolate lover by far so I was thrilled to try some items from Dove Chocolate Discoveries sent to me by Dove chocolate senior manager and independent chocolatier Shelly Mortensen. The Dove company added the direct sales portion of their business several years ago and they offer some of the most amazing products through their chocolatier’s. I have tried other products of theirs in the past and they were wonderful, so I was quite excited to try some products for you today.
Shelly sent me Dove Chocolate Discoveries Lemon White Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake Bundle. This awesome package includes:
White Chocolate Meyer Lemon Baking Mix
Frosty White Chocolate Smoothie Mix
1/2 lb. Chef-Series Dark Chocolate
Can you see where this is going? Doesn’t this sound amazing? I made the White Chocolate Meyer Lemon Baking Mix cake first according to the very simple directions. You only have to add eggs and oil to the mixture. Well, I was a tad short on the oil so I threw in some applesauce I had to make up the difference. After it cooled, the cake was frosted using the packaged frosting mix. This you only need to add cream cheese to it and then frost. I actually had to go out for the evening, so I didn’t get to taste this until later and OMG.. it truly is am amazing thing. It is somewhat dense, but super moist. The flavor is so incredible. The cake is white as the it uses a white chocolate along with the Meyer Lemon. The cream cheese frosting is loaded in flavor too. Awesome chocolate flavor with the tang of the lemon. My family’s favorite cake is lemon, so this was gone in a blink of an eye. Cupcakes would be great to make out of this too. yum!
Next I made the Frosty White Chocolate Smoothie Mix. This comes in a box with 6 packets. You can make this with a bit of coffee or milk and then the mix blended with ice. I decided to make it with coffee and I made this on a really hot day. It blended up wonderfully and made enough for 2 goblets. Oh this was so delicious. Very creamy with a light chocolate flavor mixed with the coffee I put in it. Very refreshing on a hot day!
Lastly, Shelly sent a bar of Dark Chocolate. This is comes in a box with 4 individual small bars inside. Their are 4 hunks of chocolate in each bar. The chocolate is so smooth and creamy. It is not bitter in the least. I am not a huge fan of dark chocolate, but this is a dreamy, creamy taste treat. Some dark chocolates I have had in the past are bitter and I did not enjoy them at all. This is a chocolate dream. Oh and you can bake with it too! LOL
I love the Dove product line. Every item I have tried has been excellent quality and superior flavor. I am very impressed with all of the items and I know you will be too.
