Shangri La Iced Tea
Since I don’t drink any soft drinks I am all about the tea! There is always a pitcher of fresh brewed tea in my fridge. I drink it straight with no sugar because I love tasting the pure tea flavor. It makes me a picky tea drinker too. I have been blessed to have tasted tea from all over the world because of traveling, some fresh, right off of the hills in Ceylon, well now called Sri Lanka, and it is amazingly good. Needless to say, I am thrilled to be able to tell you about a lovely iced tea company found right here on the web.
Shangri La carries some truly delightful products that I know you will love to try. Shangri La’s parent company has been in the tea business for over 150 years so I think its is safe to say they know tea! Located in the US for the past 20+ years, they have been an pioneer in the flavored iced tea business and a leader in organic and hot teas as well. They grow teas, process the leaves, and pack many of the teas in their own world class facilities. Their teas taste fresher because they are fresher.
I was sent a lovely box of 3 different types of teas to try for you. The Mango Iced Tea, Tropical Green Iced Tea and Coconut Chocolate Sachet. I started with my absolute favorite, Mango. I brewed it on the stove, allowed it to steep, and then added fresh spring water and ice to make a gallon. The flavor is so delicate and light. You get the delicious hint of the fruit, but it is not overwhelming at all. I drink a lot of tea so the next day I made the iced green tea. Also excellent and delicious. The Tropical Green tea has a bit of jasmine and a bit of pineapple and is so very refreshing! Yum!
I have to be honest, the Coconut and Chocolate scared me. LOL Being a purist when it comes to tea, I thought it would be weird. But WOW. It was awesome. I made it hot with my breakfast and enjoyed it ever so much! It smelled heavenly, just like liquid chocolate and I got the taste of chocolate, more so than the coconut. This would be an awesome dessert tea. It has a bit of sweetness to it and I am a convert… yup, you guys did it. The steeping pouch feels like silk and it is actually quite beautiful. You have to try this!
