Out Of The Box Word On The Street Junior Board Game

Today I would like to introduce you to the wonderful company called Out Of The Box where you can purchase some of the coolest games I have seen in a very long time. What I love about the company is that they make games for adults, for kids and for family’s to play together plus all of their games are affordably priced! This company has won numerous awards from parents and teacher associations across the nation so you know their products are top notch!

Today I am reviewing for all of you the Out of the Box game called Word on the Street Junior Edition made for ages 8 and up and it takes 2-8 players to play the game. Here is some information about the game. Word on the Street Junior brings the excitement of Word on the Street to the entire family. Each turn, one team flips over a category card and team members quickly brainstorm words that fit the category. The team agrees on a word before the time runs out (hourglass timer) and then pulls each letter in that word one lane closer to their side of the street. The first team to pull eight letters off the street wins! Doesn’t that sound fun? Yup it does and it is fun!

I invited my nephews over for an afternoon play date with us so that we could sit down and try out this game with them. They are ages 8, 11 and 13 years of age. I popped us some popcorn, got us some beverages and we all sat down to play the game. Since we had an odd amount of players I sat out and supervised the game playing as my hubby teamed up with the 8 year old and they played against the 11 and 13 year old. What I really love about this game is that the directions on how to play it is simple and easy to understand so in my opinion…kids really don’t need supervision by an adult to play it…older kids will do just fine on their own. Each team took their turn in flipping over a category card and then brainstormed to come up with words to fit within that category…before the time ran out…they selected their chosen word. They then moved the letters for that word over to their side of the street and the next team took their turn. The first team to pull 8 letters off the street to their side of the street wins the game and in this case…my 11 year old and 13 year old nephews won! It took about 30 minutes to play the game and once game one was done…they played it a second time and the same team won again! The boys had a fabulous time playing this game with my husband and totally enjoyed themselves.

We really love this game! It is easy to play and it’s a game that doesn’t take hours upon hours to play like some other games. It is a fabulous family game that even the adults will enjoy. We give the game a huge two thumbs up! It really is a MUST HAVE board games for those of you with older children as it helps them with their vocabulary development, creative thinking and the value of teamwork.

Davinci Gourmet Syrups Make Everything Taste Better

Today I would like to introduce you to the company called Davinci Gourmet who sells some of the most delicious syrups that I have ever tried. You can use their gourmet syrups in your coffees, iced teas, lemonades and in your favorite dessert recipes. Their products are sold in gourmet shops, coffee shops, food service outlets and grocery stores in over 40 countries. You can also purchase their products online through their online website store.

My Review: The generous folks over at Davinci Gourmet sent me 4 bottles of their flavored coffee syrups to try out for all of you. We are big coffee and tea drinkers here so I was really excited to receive them. We received the following 4 flavors:

Caramel Sugar-Free Syrup – which has a buttery toasted sugar and vanilla taste to it. This syrup sells for $7.99 a bottle and my hubby has been using it in his evening coffee the past few nights and absolutely loves it!

Kahlua Flavored Sugar-Free Syrup – If you love the taste of Kahlua you are going to love this syrup! My hubby has been using it in his coffee and I added 2 teaspoons of it to my chocolate cake batter over the weekend and wow…that chocolate cake tasted fabulous! This one sells for $7.99 a bottle.

Classic Vanilla Syrup – This pure flavor is extracted from real vanilla beans and is very versatile. You can use it in your hot teas, iced teas, coffees, espressos, desserts, etc. We have been enjoying it in our coffees and I made a batch of homemade vanilla ice cream in our ice cream maker on Sunday and I added 2 teaspoons to the mix and I love how our ice cream came out. It had a nice (but not over-powering taste to it). This one sells for $7.49 a bottle.

Classic Toasted Hazelnut Syrup – This syrup has your classic roasted hazelnut flavor that is perfect for hot coffees and hot teas. Since receiving this syrup…my adult daughter and mother have been using this in their coffees along with some whipped cream and love it. This one sells for $7.49 a bottle.

Now…you might be wondering how easy are these syrups to use and I am going to show you. You just brew your favorite cup of coffee (we made some espresso in our Tassimo) and once done by hubby simply adds a teaspoon of the syrup directly into his coffee cup. That’s it!

You don’t have to go out and pay expensive coffee shop prices anymore because you can purchase a bottle of Davinci Gourmet syrups and make your own at home!!! Our family is LOVING these syrups and over the coming weeks, I plan on trying out a lot of the Davinci Gourmet Recipes and blogging about those as we try them. We give them 10 stars out of 10 stars because they are easy to use, taste fantastic and they are totally affordable because one large bottle goes a long way!!!
