Flip Flop Wines – Perfect for a Romantic Evening at Home
Last month I was able to review some fabulous wines from a winery that is local to me called FlipFlop Wines. I still remember that amazing Reisling that I loved so much. Well, they must have loved me as I was asked to review a few more bottles. How can a girl turn that down??
I was sent three different ones to sample out of their full collection that includes Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir. I was a happy girl when I opened the box and discovered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, one of Pinot Noir and a bottle of the Chardonnay.
My husband loves red wine and he opted to try the reds first while the Chardonnay was chilling. I have to admit, I am not a red wine fan normally as most reds are dry and I like sweeter wines. But being a trooper I sampled some reds with hubby. We opened the Flip Flop Cabernet Sauvignon first. Way too much for me! Hubby liked the bold flavor of it but it was a bit too strong and dry for him for more than a few sips. We decided that it would be fabulous in a beef bourguignon and to pair it with it for sipping on the side! Now that sounds delicious!
Next up was the Flip Flop Pinot Noir. Okay, I have to tell you, this almost made a convert out of me. We both really enjoyed this wine! The scent or bouquet of this wine is amazing. Lovely fruit and a bit of vanilla. What is not to love? The flavor is a fruit sensation and we both loved the flavor of this each time we sampled it. Umm it is good!
Last up is the Flip Flop Chardonnay. Me being the white wine lover tasted this one first and while it is a bit drier than I normally like, the flavor was excellent. A beautiful fruit flavor that lasted a long time. Very delicious.
I am really happy to have been able to try these wines. I now have an affordable option to serve to friends and family especially with the Summer Holiday season upon us. I have Flip Flop wines on my shopping list for our barbeque weekend coming up soon. I will be proud to serve these! Why not a try some yourself this weekend?
