Shelly’s Thoughts: As women we often neglect ourselves so that we can take care of our family and friends which is absolutely the WRONG thing to do. Our family’s and friends need us and they need us to be healthy so I urge you to “think” about yourself too! Make sure you take time out of your day even if it’s only 20 minutes to spend on yourself! In celebration of Women’s Health Month I have personally made a pledge to get better into shape and that includes a lot of hiking, walking and swimming this summer. In addition, I am pledging to eat healthier foods and to take a minimum of 30 minutes out of my day to do something just for myself. This might be reading a book, taking a bubble bath or just meditating…but I do feel it is important to have some “ME” time each and every day.
