FlipFlop Wines – Wine Review
There are not a lot of wines that are affordable and good tasting at the same time. And while I am no where near a self professed expert in wine flavors or tastes, I know what I like and what tastes good to me. With that said, I am so excited to bring to you a wine company with a heart. FlipFlop Wines is a California based winery that produces wonderful wines and also partners Soles4Souls Inc., the international shoe charity dedicated to providing free footwear to those in need. For every bottle of flipflop wine purchased, Soles4Souls will distribute a pair of shoes to someone in need, up to 100,000 pairs for the first 100,000 bottles sold, where promotion is legal. I love that! What an awesome way to make a statement in the world.
The FlipFlop collection includes Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir.
The Review
I am so jazzed to be able to tell you about this product. Since I prefer white wines, I received a bottle of the Riesling and one of the Pinot Grigio. I chilled them both all day so they were nice and cold for dinner. Being a California girl from right up the road a bit from the winery, I could not wait to try these. California wines are so full of flavor and depth, I just new I was in for a treat!
The Review
I first tasted the Riesling. It was icy cold and a bit on the sweet side, which is how I like to drink my wines. The flavor as promised was fabulous. Very Fruity and light, it just slid down my throat. This has a light and delicate flavor and I went back for seconds. This a what a true Riesling should taste like. I have had some that were almost bitter and I do not enjoy that at all. The FlipFlop Riesling is blended with peach, apricot and melon and it is just as refreshing as it sounds. Yum! I want some right now!
I then tasted the FlipFlop Pinot Grigio. This fabulous wine has wonderful blends of pear, tropical citrus and and it has an amazing flavor as well. It is extremely smooth and not quite as sweet as the Riesling. It too is very light and delicious, almost like a summer breeze and this is going to be a wonderful wine to keep in the fridge for relaxing by the pool.
Overall, I love both of these wines. If I had to pick one over the other, I would go with the (let me grab another sip)… Riesling due to the lovely mixture of all of the fruits together. One does not stand out over the other to me. And the delicious smoothness of it. Just Amazing.
FlipFlop Wine is one that I am going to turn to whenever I want a beautiful relaxing white wine to enjoy with friends and family, whether we are BBQing in the back yard and swimming or relaxing by the pitfire in the evenings. I highly recommend FlipFlop Wines for their amazing taste and their amazing value. SRP is only $7. That in itself is tremendous for these quality wines.
Swing by the FlipFlop site and check them out. You can find these products all across the nation in your grocers or ABC stores. You owe it to yourself to try a bottle or 6 of these. I know you will enjoy them as well. LOL
