Dove Chocolate – Amazing Taste Sensation
I have to admit something today. While I have heard of the Dove Chocolate Discoveries direct sales business, I never really looked into it before. I am sorry that it took me so long to try any of the products that they offer. I was blown away!
We were contacted by Dove Chocolate Rep Nicole Cowen to do a review on the products and I had to fight Shelly to get this one! LOL I won in more ways than one! These products are fabulous! But before I get into the review, let me give you a bit of tease on the company and what they offer.
Owned by Mars, the candy company, Dove Chocolate Discoveries is set up as a direct sales party plan company with the Dove brand of chocolate being the main ingredient in the product line. All of their chocolate is made with 100% cocoa butter, so it is smooth and creamy! Started in 2007, Dove has taken the love of chocolate into many different products that now have become the norm. Beverages, BBQ, Salads and the Desserts, of course. And you can create a business around chocolate while partying as well! Brilliant!
The Review: My new Dove Chocolate Rep Nicole Cowen sent me so many different things to try, I was shocked! I actually missed a box that almost didn’t get into the review because I did not realize more product had come.
First off, the WHITE CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY DAIQUIRI MIX AND WHITE CHOCOLATE MEYER LEMON BAKING MIX. These can be purchased separately or in a set together. I made the Daiquiri’s for my friend that came over for dinner and we had a few, just to make sure they were good. LOL and OMG! They are awesome. Wonderful raspberry flavor with a touch of chocolate flavor. We both loved them and they are super easy to make. You can have the with or without alcohol. Delic! I had also tried to prepare the cake but my oven decided to have issues, so while the picture makes it look weird, trust me these are FABULOUS! I did not even get to frost them because the kid and his friends ate it as soon as it was cool enough. I did get a crumb or two and the flavor is amazing on this. Lemon cake happens to be the favorite in this house and with or with frosting, this cake, or cupcakes, is worth the every penny.
Next up is the SEA-SALTED CARAMELS AND CHOCOLATE CHIPOTLE-SPICED NUT CLUSTERS – OMG These are both awesome. My hubby who is not a huge chocolate fan raved about the Sea Salt Caramels and actually told me I could not have any. But for the sake of the review, he had to relent. And I agree, these are amazing. Lovely smooth coating of chocolate and then just a few sprinkles of sea salt and it totally changes the flavor of the item. Oh ya. And they use 6 different salts so you get 6 different flavors too. The Nut Clusters, I have to admit, I was afraid to try. I am not a huge fan or chipotle so I was thinking that this is totally going to ruin the chocolate and what a crime! But I was wrong. All you taste is the chocolate and then after a second, you get just a hint of the pepper. I liked it!
SWEET ‘N’ SPICY COCOA RUB, CHOCOLATE FIG BALSAMIC VINAIGRETTE, SWEET ‘N’ SMOKY CHOCOLATE BBQ SAUCE These came in a set as well, but again all items can be purchased separately. I first tried the vinaigrette and that was a stretch for me. I am not a huge fan of vinaigrette’s, and I really did not enjoy this one too much. It reminded me of the sauce in mincemeat pie, which is good, but not on my salad. The cocoa rub I really enjoyed. I used this on some ribs I made a few nights ago and it is loaded with flavor. The chocolate only enhanced the seasonings. I like this a lot! I also used the BBQ sauce on the ribs as well, some with the rub, some with only the sauce. Now I enjoyed the sauce as it has a nice hickory flavor to it and I did not get much of the chocolate flavor. My hubby did not like it as all he could taste was the chocolate. Funny isn’t it, how differently people taste things.
I saved the best for last. The PB & CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES OMG “Make no mistake, this is the truffle of your dreams. That first bite into milk chocolate, giving way to the practically illegal creaminess of the chocolate peanut butter center.” That is the description on the website and I cannot come up with anything better to describe these babies. So fabulous!
Overall, I am so excited that I got to try some new flavors and treats. The Dove Chocolate Discoveries line of products impressed me.
