The Review: The Zayka Store sent me their Precision Ceramic Impulse B-150 Chef’s Knife for my product review. This knife is made from Zirconia, a very dense ceramic compound. This compound is so dense that microbial particles can’t embed themselves into the blade’s surface. That means every Zayka blade is both vegan & anti-bacterial. Their blades features sabre grind producing a longer lasting edge making them perfect for slicing vegetables, fruit, fillets, deli meat’s and bread. Once my knife arrived, I hand washed it and then got busy using it to cut up some vegetables to go into our salads for dinner a few nights ago. I love how weighty this knife feels, it is not thin flimsy knife…you can tell that you are holding a quality made knife. I love the shape of the handle as it perfectly fits into the palm of my hand and it’s very comfortable to use…especially if you are chopping and slicing a lot of things like I was that day.
As I was chopping up our broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, onions and cucumbers…it went through each vegetable with ease! Because of the shape of the handle…you have really nice control of the knife as you are using it. Yesterday I used the knife again to slice tomatoes for our grilled cheese sandwiches. We like our tomato slices very thinly sliced and in less than 1 minute, I had beautiful thinly sliced tomatoes! The knife is super easy to clean, you can hand wash it (that is what I do) or you can place it into the dishwasher. However, they recommend that if you wash it in the dishwasher that you keep it from banging into anything else…you don’t want to damage your blade.
