Bamboo products have been making headlines lately because of their sustainable nature and when the fibers are made into sheets, towels or clothing they are so super soft and long lasting. They are perfect for tender bodies and easy to care for. SilverSport has created a line of bamboo and Terra Silver products for sports and yoga enthusists in an effort to keep sports clean and healthy.
I was able to review the SilverSport Silver Towel™ for you. They come in 2 sizes – 20” x 30” for sweat management while working out and 20” x 60” for heavy duty drying. I was very excited to give these a try since my son is a swimmer and is always going through towels and jamming them into his gear bag wet. I always have to keep tabs on them because of mildew issues.
These towels are very cool! There is slip resistant stuff on the letters of the product name on one side so you can lay it down on your mat when exercising. That in itself is an awesome idea and the other side is super soft and feels so nice when you rub it on your body. The absorbancy is awesome! My son took the larger one for his swim class and while the size is not the greatest for changing on deck, the drying capability is fabulous! He liked that it absorbed so much water and was very soft. I use the grey smaller one on my walks and during the summer when it is very hot here, I can wet it and wrap it around my neck to keep cool. I also like that I can launder these towels with all of the other clothes and not have to worry about mildew especially now that it is getting warmer.
The SilverSport Silver Towel provides an extra layer of protection against odor causing bacteria with a product called Terra Silver. This new Terra Silver™ technology utilizes antimicrobial silver, which is a natural defense against bacteria which as we all know is what causes odor in our clothes and linens.
So how does Terra Silver work? According to the website, “the nanosilver particles incorporated into all SilverSport products are activated by moisture, such as sweat or water. Once activated, the product begins releasing silver ions, which immediately start eliminating odor-causing bacteria on contact.
These ions create what we call a Silver Clean Zone™ – an area of protection in your home, at the gym, or wherever you choose to work out.” I think this is fabulous because I think that sweat is gross and that is one reason I am not a fan of gyms. Too many sweaty bodies using the same equipment and mats. ICK! Now you can take your towel with you and protect yourself on the mats and machines with the non skid side and the soft viscose bamboo materials that absorb sweat and don’t smell.
