My Review: The Hachette Book Group sent me the brand new book called The Portable Pediatrician by the Authors of the famous & popular The Baby Book. The Portable Pediatrician book is written by William Sears, MD, Martha Sears, RN, Robert Sears, MD, James Sears, MD and Peter Sears, MD. This fabulous book is an encyclopedic guide to your child’s health from birth through adolescence and covers such topics as: allergies, asthma, broken bones, bronchitis, choking, ear infections, eating problems, fever, headaches, heart defects, nosebleeds, pneumonia, rashes, seizures, sleep problems, speech delay, teething, vomiting, warts and much, much more!!! The book gives you advice on treating your child at home, when to call the doctor, and precautions you can take to safeguard your child’s well-being. The book is done in an easy and convenient A-Z format so that you can find what you are looking for quickly and there is an easy to use index for quick reference.
My Overall Impression: I LOVE this book! As most of our readers know, I am a first time grandmother to a little 22 month old grand daughter and this book is jam packed with helpful and useful information and it’s in an easy to read & understand format! I love all of the Dr. Sears tips that are sprinkled throughout the book. I love the tips on how to deal with an ear infection since little one currently has one…like letting them sleep upright or with the infected ear facing up so that it can drain properly and relieve inner-ear pressure. This large 575 page soft-cover book is a MUST HAVE for anyone who has little ones around…whether you are a parent, grandparent or a care giver, you really need a copy of this book! I highly recommend this book to you!
