BKW Seasonings Original Gourmet Blend
If you love trying out different seasoning and spices on your meats, you gotta hear about this company. BKW Seasonings, creators of the Big Kahuna Original Gourmet Blend, is a versatile, all-purpose seasoning blend. It brings out the true flavor of almost any food and its uses are endless. Although it was created for fried chicken, it is great on almost anything!
BKW Seasonings, is a family-owned business. Originating in the early 1960’s, BKW Seasonings has been satisfying taste buds for over 40 years. The seasoning was originally created to produce a unique buffalo-style wing that they enjoyed making for friends and customers at football games, parties, and gatherings.
In 1997, they opened a small take-out restaurant near the University of Tennessee campus called Big Kahuna Wings. Just two weeks after opening, BKW competed with twenty-nine local, regional and national wing restaurants including Hooters, Spicy’s, and Buffalo Wild Wings, among others and was voted BEST WINGS in Knoxville at the annual “War of the Wings.” The Big Kahuna legend was born as was the creation of creation of Big Kahuna Original Gourmet Blend. Steaks, hamburgers, pork, fish, vegetables, and many other foods have proven to be excellent with the addition of their seasoning blend.
The Review
I was sent a bottle of the BKW Big Kahuna Original to try out for you today. I love good seasonings on my meat so I was anxious to try this out. I decided to have some chicken and seasoned that baby up. I love baked chicken, so I cooked it that way. My hubby and I were the only ones home that night and we enjoyed the flavor very much. It is very mild and I can see why it would be good on fish, pork, veggies and many other types of foods. The next time I use it, I will put on more seasoning as I coated it well, but didn’t go overboard since I didn’t know what to expect.
I am glad that BKW Seasonings has so many other flavors to choose from. I think I would even get the Fire seasoning to add a bit of spice to the Original. Yum! I can just imagine what wings would taste like with it on. yuummm
