Newman’s Own Organics Alphabet Cookies
Today I have another great Newman’s Own Organics food product to talk to you about. Today’s blog posting and review is on the Newman’s Own Organics Alphabet Cookies! These fabulous are available in 3 flavors: Arrowroot, Cinnamon Graham and Chocolate. Like other cookies in the line, Alphabet Cookies do not have any cholesterol or trans-fatty acids because of the use of Organic Palm Fruit Oil. Organic palm fruit oil shouldn’t, though, be confused with palm kernel oil.
My Review: Newman’s Own Organics sent us a bag of their Alphabet Cookies in the Arrowroot flavor to try out. I was excited to be trying these out as I think they would be a great cookie snack for my little 20 month old grand daughter. When they arrived, I gave Gia 5 of them for her after nap snack and I immediately noticed the size of each cookie…they are the perfect size for toddler hands! I think they are a great tool to help teach toddler’s their alphabet letters while giving them a snack. Since she is 20 months old, she can’t tell me “word wise” how she liked them but I can tell you that after she ate 5 of them she did want another one and Nanny gave her a sixth. I guess that means she liked them!
I decided to try one out and personally…it was okay but not my favorite cookie in life. I would eat them again but they are not on the top of my favorites list. Perhaps it is just the arrowroot flavor in them. With that said, I did pack a bag full of them in my 25 yr old daughters lunch the following day and she enjoyed them…matter of fact, she came home with an empty bag later that night. So, there you have it! I think the arrowroot flavor will appeal to some people and not to others.
Overall Impression: I personally would not purchase this flavor for myself but I do intend to purchase them as a snack for my little grand daughter as I like to offer her a variety of treats and not the same old thing each day. As humans, we all have different taste buds and some things are yummy to some people and to others…not so much! I would like to try the cinnamon grahams flavor if I can find it when I go to the store this weekend as I do like cinnamon flavored cookies!
