Product Reviewer Tips – Choosing the Right Product to Review

When you first start your review site, it can be easy to get caught up in accepting any and all reviews that come your way. Sadly, many reviewers find that certain products just will not work for their site and they then find themselves in the uncomfortable position of not having a lot of entrants for the review and giveaway. There are a few things you can do to make sure that you are choosing the proper things for your site.

* Make sure you know who your followers are. One easy way you can do this would be setting up a Facebook business page for your review site. Within that, Facebook tracks your stats on your followers. You can get their ages and whether they have kids and other info. This will really help you in figuring out if something would work or not.

* Set up a Survey on your blog to see what type of products your followers are looking for. Just ask and they will tell you.

* Is the product something you personally would enter and use? If not, chances are that many of your followers would think the same thing.

* Is the product timely in the marketplace? Are you reviewing a gift item at the proper time for that item to be a gift? Halloween goods at Christmas won’t help you much.

* Is the product really different than what you normally offer your entrants? If you normally do baby strollers and you come in with tire cleaner, it might be a stretch.

* Do you have a niche of items that you promote? Are you a food blog or a natural healthy living type blog? Having a niche is a valuable tool. Find one that works for you and stick to items within that range. If you come up with an item that you just feel you have to review and do a giveaway on, make sure to write it up in such a manner so that people in your niche would want to use it and therefore want to enter.

Know that it is okay to not accept a review just because it is offered or once you get going on it and you find out something disturbing, you can cancel it and offer to return the product. This is especially important if you are new to the review process. Don’t feel you have to take everything that you find. If something is out there and really different, it may be wise to pass on it until you have a lot of followers or see how it works on other blogs. Also know that what may go well on someone else’s site may not go well on your site and it works in the reverse as well. There are some things that no one can predict.

Mrs. Peacock’s Peanut Brittle

Mrs. Peacock’s Peanut Brittle

Mrs Peacock Peanut BrittleToday I would like to introduce you to a product called Mrs. Peacock’s Brittle which is sold through Foodies General Store as well as retail locations located in Michigan, Ohio and Florida. Mrs. Peacock’s Brittle has been a favorite of many family and friends and now I have the pleasure of introducing you to this great product.

Mrs. Peacock’s Brittle comes in three delicious flavors: Peanut Brittle, Almond Brittle and Pistachio Brittle. All of Mrs. Peacock’s Brittle is made the old-fashioned way and is hand-made so that you know you are getting a quality product. Each lovingly hand-made batch of brittle is incredibly light, airy and delightfully addictive! You will love this brittle!

My Review: The great folks over at Foodies General Store sent me a bag of Mrs. Peacock’s Peanut Brittle for my product review. As soon as the package arrived…my hubby immediately got into the bag and had a piece. (okay I lie…he had several pieces LOL). Matter of fact, I had to get testy with him so that I could get a few pieces too! This delicious peanut brittle comes in an 8 oz. bag and I love that the bag has a zipper closure so that it stays fresh! This peanut brittle has absolutely NO added preservatives at all…which is a big plus in my book! A 1 oz. serving has 110 calories which I think is great. The taste…oh my….how do I even describe it. Mrs. Peacock’s Peanut Brittle is the absolute BEST TASTING brittle we have ever tried! It is the perfect buttery, sweet and nutty taste…blended to perfection! It is extremely hard to eat just one piece, it is amazing!

Ingredients: granulated sugar, Virginia peanuts, corn syrup, distilled water, unsalted butter, sweet cream, natural flavorings, baking soda and sea salt. (love that I can pronounce all of those ingredients and no funky stuff!)

Overall Impression: Wow…this Mrs. Peacock’s Peanut Brittle is totally amazing! It really is the best tasting brittle we have ever eaten. Truth be told…between 4 adults…we demolished that bag of brittle in a little over 26 hours! I think this brittle would make a fabulous gift for anyone for their Birthday, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Christmas, etc. (hint: Valentine’s Day is just around the corner). Another huge plus is that it is totally affordable at only $7.29 per 8 oz. bag! My family gives this product and this company a huge 2 thumbs up! If you love brittle, you have got to check them out today! We are looking forward to trying the other 2 flavors in the near future.
