Great Educational Programming for Children on PBS!
Contribution by German Flowers
When I was a kid, programs like Sesame Street and Reading Rainbow were part of growing up. The great life-long lessons about sharing, stealing, and bullies, proved to stick with me through adult-hood. The funny Muppets, other great characters, and mentors, made learning words, letters, and numbers, so much more fun. This is why PBS (Public Broadcast Station,) is my favorite children’s educational programming.
Even as an adult I can still find an educational documentary or other program to watch and enjoy on PBS, but Sesame Street is still my favorite. I even watch it on TVbyDirect with my kids now and wouldn’t you know it? They love the Muppets too! The best part about Sesame Street now is that it still features all of the funny Muppets that I loved as a child, like Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and my favorite, Cookie Monster!
When it comes to watching children’s programming with my kids, making sure the shows they watch are educational, fun, and appropriate is important to me. PBS has many great shows, not just for kids, but adults as well. Whenever my children want to watch television, I always turn to PBS and Sesame Street, for quality educational programming.
