Learning to Knit
This guest post from Margaret Mills
I learned to knit when I was about 10 years old. My mom taught me how to knit. Through many lessons of frustration, I have yet to properly knit a single item! Perhaps it’s a coordination issue with my fingers not being able to handle the yarn and two needles at the same time. Or perhaps the patterns are just too difficult for me to follow. I just haven’t been able to successful knit any project that I have started. Usually, since while knitting we are watching our satellite TV system from DirectStarTV.com, I end up putting the knitting project down and watching whatever show is on instead.
I think knitting is a great hobby. People that have learned to successfully knit have created very beautiful projects as well as very useful projects. Many beautifully knitted sweaters, scarves, hats and gloves have been created by knitters. Many people have also benefited from these wonderful projects. They have helped keep people warm. Some of the knitted projects that I’ve seen I would classify as a work of art.
