Today I would like to introduce you to the company called Educational Insights based out of Southern California. Educational Insights is the manufacturer of playful products with serious educational value, including subject-specific classroom products, teacher resources, educational toys, and games. Their products are designed by seasoned educators & parents who know that children love to learn when you make that learning experience fun!
When you visit the Educational Insights online web site you will find that it’s really easy to navigate. The web site has three tabbed categories which are the sections for Parents, Teachers and Classroom Jeopardy. Since I am a mother and grandmother…I could spend hours just browsing around their parent’s section of the web site.
Educational Insights sells a variety of toys and learning sets that any parent would be proud to purchase for their children. You will find sets that explore active learning, active play, books, construction sets, discovery & exploration, early skill development, electronic toys & accessories, games & puzzles, imaginative & role play items, learning toys and so much more! I just love all of the high quality educational products that this web site has to offer.
My Review: Educational Insights sent me their Hot Dots Jr. “Ace” the Talking Touching Dog (like an electronic pen) along with two boxes of Hot Dots Jr. double-side cards. The boxes of cards are The Alphabet and The Shapes which are right in step with the things I want to try to teach my little grand daughter right now. First of all I want to state that little Gia is 18 1/2 months old but a little advanced for her age…second, this set is geared towards kids 3-6 years of age. With that being said, I was able to sit down and do this with Gia for short amounts of time.
Here is how it works: Show your child one of the flash cards (in this case it is the letter A card) and ask your child to point to the matching letter using the “Ace” the talking dog pen. If your child selects the correct letter…Ace will answer them with words like “correct” and “terrific”. He will from time to time wiggle and light up his eyes when your child selects the correct answers. If your child selects the incorrect answer, Ace will say “incorrect” or “try again”.
We tried a few of the Alphabet cards but she wasn’t too interested in those just yet (she is only 18 months old) however…when I opened the box of the Shapes cards and we sat down and tried those…she got really into those! (I think it is because at preschool they are already trying to teach the toddlers about shapes). I would show her the cards and she would use “Ace” to point at what she thought the answer was…about 1/2 the time she just pointed him at anything on the card because she liked it when he talked to her. Matter of fact…she calls him “dog dog” now! LOL! Each box of flash cards contains 36 double-sided cards for a total of 72 fun-filled lessons.
Overall Impression: We just love this Hot Dots Jr. set! Matter of fact, hubby and I are going to purchase additional cards and add them to her Easter basket in the spring time. The Hot Dots Jr. Ace The Talking Dog and all of the Flash Card Accessories you can buy to go with it are a great investment in your child’s educational development. This is a fun product that helps your child to learn various things such as their Alphabet, Shapes, Patterns, Phonics, Numbers & Counting, etc. I am extremely impressed with this set and I highly recommend that you check out all of the fun & educational learning products that Educational Insights has to offer.
You can purchase the EDUCATIONAL INSIGHTS HOT DOTS JR. BEGINNING PHONICS CARD SET directly from Amazon for a really great price!
