Maria Alden is the owner of Spoonful Of Fruit All Natural Jams and Preserves. Maria has been canning her fruit preserves since she was a kid, learning the craft from her grandmother and continuing on the tradition and bringing the public the same product her family enjoyed for generations. Spoonful of Fruit is so chunky, natural and low in sugar, they can’t even call it a Jam, Jelly or Preserve. Why? Because the government defines Jams, Jellies and Preserves as “43% Sugar or more by Volume”. Spoonful of Fruit is Only 30% Sugar by Content, and 70% Fruit by Content. So Maria calls it Gourmet Fruit Classiques instead. She is currently offering 7 Fabulous Flavors. All sound just awesome!
The Review
Maria was so kind to send me a mixed box of preserves to try. I got 6 assorted flavors. My family loves preserves and my husband especially loves apricot so we started with the Peach Apricot Pear. The amount of fruit in this product is amazing. The taste is just like you plucked the fruit from the tree and popped it in your mouth. Awesome!
We also cracked open the Strawberry Orange Mango which has all of my favorites in it. OMG this stuff is so awesome! You can get a spoon and just eat it right out of a jar. Maria has several recipes on the site that show you how you can use the Fruit Classiques in different ways such as an ice cream topping, over meats as a fruit confiture and with cheeses and french bread. Oh, you really have to try this! I still have a few more to sample and I cannot wait!
