Owners Priscilla Palmer and Jim Leavitt founded Emerson Creek Pottery in 1977. Priscilla developed the unique technique of applying natural pigments to an absorbent glaze with a Japanese Sumi-e brush. The spontaneity of the brush stroke, combined with the accuracy of design yields their distinctively recognizable style. Priscilla’s deep love of the natural world provides a multitude of organic designs for all of Emerson Creek Pottery.

The Review: I was delighted to check out the pottery by receiving a coffee mug from Emerson Creek Pottery. A lovely red Poppy design was painted and fired onto my mug. Bright and colorful. So pretty in the mornings! It is a nice coffee size mug with a good sized handle to get a good grip on the mug. I love that it is handpainted, lead free and made in America! YAY! The quailty is wonderful. This mug is blemish free and all of their products are microwave and dishwasher safe, lead free and ovenproof. I think this is of the same or better quality of the popular polish style pottery you see so much. I would love to expand my pottery pieces to include these products. I love it!
