Make Soda at Home with Sodastream

July 26, 2010 by Classystaff

My family and I had such a great time with our next sponsors product. SodaStream is a very cool soda maker that replaces all of those annoying cans and bottles you buy at the store. Think of how much money you are going to save on the product and the recycling fees! Now making carbonated water and soft drinks is simple! Turn tap water into sparkling water or soda pop in under 30 seconds, with no clean-up. You can enjoy the freshness and convenience of homemade soda and protect the environment at the same time.

The Review: When I got the box, my son and husband totally ripped it apart and put it together. They sent me the Jet model in Black and silver. Blends in perfectly with the kitchen and it is super slim. It has no power and can be moved anywhere. It was super simple to get it going. From out of the box to making product was probably less than 5 minutes.

Sodastream sent us a box of water flavoring and 9 soda flavors to try. We had a great time tasting and making them! There are over 30 flavors to choose from! There are traditional favorites such as Cola, Lemon-Lime, Orange and Root Beer, or mixers, including Ginger Ale and Tonic in both regular and diet. And the specialty flavors they call fruit creations, include Orange Mango, Diet Pink Grapefruit and Cranberry-Raspberry. Regular soda mix flavors contain less sugar, calories, carbohydrates and sodium than national drink brands, and they contain no high-fructose corn syrup. Diet flavors are sweetened with Splenda®. Each bottle of concentrated sodamix makes the equivalent of 12 liters (33 cans) of soda. That is amazing. And the cost of the refills starts at $4.99 with some of the specialty ones being $6.99.

The first one we tryed was Orange Mango. Delicious!! My son then made Lemon Lime and really enjoyed that! They are very refreshing and taste so much like the major brand soda. We have tryed most of the 8 flavors send to us since receiving the machine and each one is a winner!

SodaStream also has an Energy Drink. You know how much those are at the store. One bottle of concentrated Energy Drink sodamix makes 50 8-oz.servings. And you control the fizz and flavor intensity. Generate your own energy (drink). Contains Vitamins B6 and B12, Niacin, Folate, Riboflavin, Vitamin C, Caffeine and Biotin. Extreme flavor. Extreme savings at .25 per bottle. How cool is that?

I love that my son and husband can make sodas whenever they want and I don’t have to run to the store and pay those outrageous fees! And my recycling issues will be diminished as well. What a great thing for the environment. OH and the best part? It is so cool! We all love it!
