Foodie Gifts from Enstrom’s Candies
Today I am going to tell you about an awesome secret! That secret is called Enstrom Candies. Enstrom’s is a family owned business that started an ice cream shop in 1929. The founder, Chet, loved making candy and would enjoy making confections in the evening; his specialty being english toffee. After treating family and friends to his recipe for years, he was convinced by them to open a shop. In 1965 he did so and the orders came flying in and they were soon shipping world wide.
In addition to their World Famous Almond Toffee, Enstrom’s also makes a full line of premium chocolates, truffles, toffee popcorn, ice cream and other fine confections. Each batch of Enstrom’s confections is carefully crafted to ensure the highest quality and freshest taste.
This third generation of confectioners still operates with the philosophy begun by Chet over 75 years ago: that they’re just making a little toffee for a few of their friends. Every batch is still handmade in their factory in Grand Junction, Co. and there are retail shops in Denver where you can go and select your candy.
The Review:
I was so happy to receive a delightful box of English Toffee in the mail the other day. I am a fool for english toffee and can make a mean batch myself. I was curious how they would ship the product in the middle of a hot summer, but the box came with the chocolate intact and wonderful. Shipped frozen, the product is able to thaw and it works!
The toffee was creamy and delicious. The almonds were plentiful and the chocolate was a smooth milk chocolate, with not a bit of bitterness. The almond topping was so finely chopped, it was almost like a powder. This was way different than any toffee I have eaten. But, oh so delicious!
I wish I could share it with you, but sorry! I am even hiding it from my family so I can enjoy every ounce of goodness Enstrom ‘s has afforded me. But you are going to be able to try some for yourself but entering and winning the contest they are so graciously sponsoring!
