My Review: GlammaToys was generous enough to send me one of their items from the Kimochis line and we received the Huggtopus for our review. The Huggtopus arrived in a cute peek-a-boo box along with 3 plush feeling characters and a How To Feel Guide Book. Frankly, I have never seen a toy like this, so I was eager to see the reaction I would get when I gave it to my granddaughter. According to the web site, Kimochi means ‘feelings’ in Japanese. Using the various characters in the Kimochis line of toys, you can help your child get in touch with his/her feelings so that they can learn to express their feelings to you. The Huggtopus is super soft and very well made and the little plush feeling characters can be stored in his mouth or in the cloth drawstring bag that comes with the toy. The Kimochis can build self confidence and character…one feeling at a time. I will admit, this toy is a little too old for my granddaughter (she is only 15 months old) but we did sit down and play with it. She had a great time trying to put the character feelings in his mouth and then trying to take them back out…great for building up eye and hand coordination in little ones. I liked that there are no hard parts on the Huggtopus that can hurt a small child…super soft & very plush! As my granddaughter ages, I look forward to exploring all of the possibilities that this toy provides and I think it will make great teaching tool for preschool & early elementary school teachers too.
Overall Impression: My order arrived to my home quickly & was well packaged. I love the graphics on the peek-a-boo box and this toy is made of high quality materials. As a grandmother, I am looking for toys with an educational & creative purpose behind them and this toy certainly fits the bill on that.
